Hotel Britannia

We stayed at this hotel during a business trip. I chose it because of its location, which is very convenient: a 2-minute walk to the railway station, 5–7 minutes to the port, and around 30 minutes to the central part of the city. There are cafés and grocery shops nearby.

It is more of a hotel-hostel, as it has rooms for 2-4 people as well as rooms for 6-8 people. There are many young travellers and tourist groups.

Breakfast included: scrambled eggs, toast bread, rolls, two types of cheese, two types of cold meats, sausages, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet and natural yoghurts, several types of pastries such as brownies, tarts, croissants and French pains au chocolat, jams, Nutella, whole apples, bananas, kiwis and oranges.

The coffee was not good, but there was a selection of tea bags, as well as cold and hot milk. In my opinion, for the price, the breakfast was quite varied.

The rooms are generally clean. The only issue is the bathroom, which needs renovation — there is mould on the ceiling.

Earplugs are provided, but we did not need them. There is some noise from cars outside, but it did not disturb us significantly.

The hotel has an interesting feature: a fully equipped shared kitchen available to guests. There are also products in the kitchen that guests can use for free to cook their own meals, including vegetables and pasta.

There is also a gym and a relaxation area with a billiard table and children’s toys.
