Dome Beach Marina Hotel & Resort

We stayed at Asterias Beach Hotel in April. We booked a Double Room but were given a Family category room instead — with a large terrace. The room had a double bed plus a fold-out bed for a child, as well as a sofa and a partition between the sleeping areas. The bathroom was quite spacious.

The hotel is beachfront in the Makronissos Beach area. It has its own beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas, but the beach is rocky and the entry from the shore isn’t convenient. I’d recommend swimming at the neighbouring public beach, about a 1-minute walk away — it’s excellent. You can swim there and still relax on the hotel’s beach. It’s handy that there’s a beach bar and a dedicated beach lounge area.

The hotel offers BB, HB and AL. We stayed on all inclusive: the choice wasn’t huge, but everything tasted good. Soups were a bit specific, there were lots of greens/salads, meat dishes, desserts and ice cream. Alcohol is local — cocktails weren’t good, wine was fine.

There was children’s entertainment, a kids’ club, and daytime activities by the pool. There’s also a small waterpark with slides for very young children. The grounds are well kept, with lots of greenery and flowers.
