ALEGRIA President

We stayed at ALEGRIA President in summer. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the centre. You can book it on a room-only basis, with breakfast, or with breakfast and dinner. The selection is fairly standard European, and at dinner there were prawns and paella.

The DOUBLE STANDARD rooms haven’t been renovated (those are the ones in the photos). The Junior Suite rooms are much better and have been refurbished. There’s an indoor pool, and the terrace has a lovely view of the mountains. A nice touch: when guests checked in with a dog, they were given a little welcome treat for the pet.

The hotel has paid parking at €25 per day, but not all cars will fit as the car park has low clearance, so do check this before you arrive. There’s also a paid outdoor car park nearby that doesn’t belong to the hotel; it’s also €25 per day.

We basically only slept at the hotel, so I’d recommend it for that purpose — as a base for exploring the city rather than spending time in the rooms.
